Blok Beeze was born January 12, 1984 as David Lee Blocker Jr. in Dothan, Alabama to David Lee Blocker Sr. and Gwendolyn Rebecca Gay. Receiving his first pair of drumsticks at the tender age of four ignited a musical passion in him that would burn for years to come. At age 15 while playing drums for his church, Blok Beeze began experiencing the techniques of production after meeting DJ/Producer, Derek “DJ D-Rock” Newsome. Armed with only a midi-keyboard and a Roland VS, he took advantage of every opportunity he had to spend countless hours in DJ D-Rock’s home-based studio writing and recording. Within a year he started writing and co-producing tracks with a group of friends and family know as “First Fam”. At the age of 23, Blok Beeze was introduced and later signed by Marcel “Big Blink” Jackson to Endless Muziik Group. Under the mentorship and management of “Big Blink”, he co-founded a music production company, Tripple Krown Muziik.

Blok Beeze was nicknamed “Smoove” by his peers because of his laid back demeanor, and later coined “Mr. Southern Debonaire” introducing himself to the world as the south’s distinguished gentleman.  With his raspy voice and laid back flow, it’s easy to be seduced by the metaphoric phrases and preciseness of his lyrics. He is delivering a breath of fresh air to the world of hip-hop that is long overdue. He strives to not just be a one-dimensional artist, but encompass all aspects of the art of music.  Blok Beeze has graced the stages of some of the nation’s most prestigious universities, hottest clubs, and various venues.

A few of Blok Beeze’s accomplished works include the release of internationally fly (iFLY), (NOV 2007), Milayo Drive, (FEB 2009), Bring it Back-single (AUG 2009), Business as Usual (OCT 2009), and the highly anticipated release of his upcoming single Cutti Gurl (summer 2010).

Blok Beeze is a legend in the making; and the making is now.
